What Myth About Dads Is Holding You Back From Being The Dad You Want To Be?

Do you start fresh every morning, fail, then vow to begin again with the same old strategy?

While at the same time telling yourself that you’re not good enough, smart enough, or man enough to be a dad. I mean, what is the point of getting out of bed every morning.

We live in a world where being a dad has taken a back seat to the type of job you have, how much money is in your bank account, the clothes you wear, how many friends you have on your social media account, whether your kid made the top team in their respective sport, or if your spouse is drop dead gorgeous.

It is all revolving around the myths we have created and come to believe to be true.

Eventually, we start to believe these myths to be absolute or true. As this happens, we begin to detach ourselves from the very things that truly matter in our lives… Our CHILDREN, SPOUSE, FRIENDS, and COMMUNITY.

No wonder, soo many of us dads are lost. Our whole life we have come to believe that masculinity defines what it means to be a dad, it doesn’t matter if dad is present, moms are better parents, we must always be strong, or we can’t stay home with the kids.

We have lost what it means to be a dad.

We have stopped creating ourselves as dads.

We have been chasing and obtaining the very things that when we are on our death bed, we could care less about.

“If we are not careful, our future will simply be an extension of our past.”

Erwin Raphael McManus
